How-to Move a WordPress Site from one Server to another

Nice and detailed guide for moving a WordPress site to a new host. I don’t like the idea to set the old site into “maintenance mode”. How long should you do this 24 hours? It’s pretty dangerous if the GoogleBot has visited your site to often in the meantime. In my opinion it’s much safer to change the DNS after the site is moved and yes the comments in meantime…
